Konnichiwa Hitomi-san! Mada byouki desuka? (Still sick?) Okurete henji wo gomenasai. (Sorry I’m late to answer your question.) Something my mom always recommended for a sore throat is to gargle with warm salty water. Mix warm water with table salt, enough to make it taste salty, and gargle. Do NOT swallow, just gargle and spit. This has always worked for me and my family. Something to do for cold symptoms like runny, stuffy nose, try Vic’s Vapo rub or some other generic menthol eucalyptic product over the chest. The smell helps clear your nose. But only use at night. Using it during the daytime might make your cold worse. Also, a humidifier at bedside helps.

Hey Hitomi and Paul, This is Colt Lecuyer from Georgia. I love Japanese and I really want to learn it more than anything else. I want to thank you two for the excellent lessons. I have learned so much just by listening to the podcasts on the site. Keep up the good work.
